I used to read all the blogs about New Testament Studies and New Testament Textual Criticism. I made a little website to aggregate them together so I could read them online from wherever I was (I did not use a laptop at that point).
However, I did a part-masters in a different subject, worked in the real world and concentrated on improving my programming skills. So I forgot about my little aggregator, stopped reading it and then did not renew the account it was hosted at.
However, now I am feeling more chilled out and I have started to try to read the Greek New Testament again. So I want to get back into reading the blogs.
However, the cool NT blogs have probably changed, and I don't want to spend an evening ploughing through search results and all the noise and nonsense that would bring up. So I decided to bootstap my New Testament category in my RSS reader by importing a list of feeds from someone else. I can then add or delete from that.
I was going to email one of my former teachers and ask for a copy of his feed list, however it turned out it is published online anyhow.
He has linked to his Google Reader account, and it did not take long to figure out that you can modify the URL, change the part 'shared' to 'public/subscriptions' then you get an OPML XML file that that RSS Readers can import. Handy!
I am going to try this approach for my other interests too. So if you are using Google Reader, watch out, I might be hoovering up your feed list!

Your mad skillz are too l33t! for me.

I specifically switched to Google Reader so that I could show people what blogs I read. But I couldn't work out how to then do that.

Are you saying it's possible? I still can't work it out. What a clueless noob I am.

It's really great to hear that you are successfully using Google Reader. Many times I tried to get connected with it but every time my effort went in vain. It would be very helpful if you provide a step by step procedure for me. Thanks in advance.
